Lady Jackets Advance To Title Game

JACKSON - A 14-2 fourth quarter handed Starkville another trip back to the MHSAA Class 7A State Championship game after overcoming Biloxi, 41-34 in the semifinals at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

The Lady Jackets will look for its sixth state title on Friday against Harrison Central. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

After trailing throughout the first three quarters, SHS erased a 32-27 lead heading into the final eight minutes. Starkville matched the Indians at 34-all and took a lead that it did not relinquish.

Senior Jada Gay led the Lady Jackets in scoring with 20 points. She also pulled down seven rebounds. Jade Brown added seven points and three rebounds along with four steals.

Junior Zariah Brown and junior Logan Warren scored seven and six points respectively.
