Lady Jackets Rally Past Madison Central
MADISON - A 10-2 scoring run to close out the game, including a key three pointer by junior Zariah Brown, lifted Starkville to a 49-44 win over region rival Madison Central on Wednesday.
The Lady Jackets out-scored the Lady Jags, 13-6 in the final eight minutes after trailing 38-36 through three periods.
Brown led SHS in scoring with 14 points in the contest and pulled down eight rebounds in 32 minutes of action. She added three assists and a pair of steals.
Junior Logan Warren recorded double digits in the scoring column. Warren tallied 13 points, including three treys on the night. Senior Jade Brown rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points and nine rebounds.
SHS's game at Oxford on Friday has been postponed by school officials due to the affects of the winter storm that swept through the northern part of the state. A make up date has noit been announced. The Jackets return to The Nest on Tuesday, Feb.3, hosting Murrah for Senior Night. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
