Jordan Leads Jackets at Battle of the Borders
SHS moves to 6-0 after Thanksgiving break win in Olive Branch. Miss.
OLIVE BRANCH – Starkville posted its second win of the season against out-of-state competition with a 51-45 win over Arlington High School out of the Memphis, Tennessee area at the Battle of the Border in Olive Branch.
In the Thanksgiving break contest, the Jackets were led by three different double-digit scorers. Junior Ladanuel Jordan, who recently moved over from the gridiron to the hardwood, posted a game-high 15 points. Jordan was named the Most Valuable Player for the game after adding a pair of rebounds and two assists.
Senior Jaden Tate added 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds in the win. Senior Jerwan McCarter was the third Jacket to reach double figures in the scoring column with 10 points and six rebounds. McCarter dished out four assists.
Senior Terrell Warren, Jr. pitched in six points and three assists, while junior Kobe Hendrix contributed four points and grabbed four boards.
SHS returns to action on Tuesday, December 2 with a visit to Forest Hill in Jackson, Miss. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
