Girls Soccer Falls In Home Finale
STARKVILLE - The Starkville girls soccer team dropped its final home contest of the 2025-26 season on Thursday after Germantown tallied a pair of goals in the second half to pick up the region win.
The Lady Jackets, who needed a win by a plus-2 goal margin to get in the postseason, finished the region slate with six points after a pair of wins over Murrah.
After a scoreless 40 minutes, the Lady Mavs broke the deradlock with a goal in the first 15 minutes of the second half and added an insurance goal minutes later. SHS threatened throughout the final half, but could not find the back of the net.
Thursday's home finale marked the final outing for the six-member senior class for the Lady Jackets.
SHS will wrap up the season on Thursday, Jan. 29 with an out-of-region match up with Kosciusko.
