Lady Jackets Cruise Past Oxford
STARKVILLE - Starkville cruised by Oxford in girls basketball action at The Nest on Tuesday with a 63-22 win over the Chargers.
The Lady Jackets improved to 17-3 overall and remained perfect (2-0) in Region 2 contests.
A 20-point second quarter blossomed a two-point lead after the first eight minutes of the contest. SHS out-scored OHS 35-7 in the second and third quarters to break the contest open.
SHS was led by junior Zariah Brown, who finished with 15 points. Brown added three assists in 24 minutes of action. Senior Jada Gay posted 13 points and six rebounds. She added two steals and a pair of blocks. Junior Logan Warren collected nine points on three treys. Senior Karmen Robinson contributed seven points off the bench.
The Lady Jackets will travel to Jackson on Friday to face Murrah. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
