Softball Rallies Past Choctaw County
STARKVILLE - Starkville rallied from an early 6-1 deficit to run-rule Choctaw County, 18-8, on Tuesday night at the SHS Softball Field.
The Lady Jackets tied the contest with a four-run fourth inning and posted back-to-back six-run frames in the fifth and sixth innings.
Sophomore Leigh Parker Morgan drove in seven runs on two hits to lead Starkville past the Chargers. Morgan tripled in the sixth scoring three, singled in the fourth scoring two and walked in the fifth scoring one.
SHS flipped the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on one hit to take the lead, 12-6. Senior Tatum Still and junior Sadie Foote each added a pair of hits.
Sophomore Andley Pylate went the distance in the circle with allowing just three hits and collecting three strikeouts. She also had an RBI sngle and reached base three times with a pair of walks.
The Lady Jackets continue the homestand on Thursday with a match up with Nanih Waiya. First pitch of the varsity contest is set for 6:30 p.m.
