Jackets Unplug Chargers In Region Rout
STARKVILLE - Starkville unplugged the Chargers from the start in a region rout of Oxford, 56-20, on Tuesday night at The Nest.
The Jackets moved to 18-1 on the season and 2-0 in Region 2 contests.
After holding a 13-8 lead after the opening quarter, the Jackets posted a 20-2 second quarter and added a 16-point effort in the third quarter.
Senior Jaden Tate and junior Kobe Hendrix combined for 20 points in the contest to lead the SHS offense. Tate finished with 10 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists. Henrix also pulled down five rebounds. Senior TJ Warren nearly reached double digits with eight points and he dished out five assists. Senior Jerwan McCarter tallied seven points and four boards.
The Jackets will travel to Jackson on Friday to face Murrah. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
