SHS Passes First Road Test At Neshoba Central
PHILADELPHIA - Starkville passed its first road test with a fast start on Tuesday with a 10-2 win over Neshoba Central.
The Jackets, who have put together bnack-to-back wins with double digit runs, plated seven of the 10 runs over the first three innings to take command of the midweek outing. SHS added three insurance runs in the seventh.
A trio of Jackets recorded multi-hit games, ked by senior Torian Knox, who put SHS on the board with a first inning double. Kox added another RBI with a walk. Junior Kaden Wilson posted a pair of hits, including an RBI, while freshman Murphy Gordon also collected two hits and driving in two runs. Senior Will Moody posted a pair of hits from the lead off spot.
Tyson Knox and Wilson combined to limit the Rockets to two runs on five hits. Knox tossed the first four innings and tallied four strikeouts to record the win. Wilson finished the final three innnings on the mound with five strikeouts.
The Jackets will travel to Kosciusko on Friday before hosting the Rockets and Grenada on Saturday on Yellow Jacket Fioeld at Carlisle Stadium.
